We offer Mental Health Therapy. Our sessions include a combination of healing therapies.
Each session consists of Psychotherapy combined with other therapies based on your particular needs and goals.
We do not use a “one size fits all” approach to Mental Health.
A session could include psychotherapy, mindfulness practice while brewing tea/coffee, and a guided meditation. Another session could consist of a Reiki treatment for energetic healing, and progressive muscle relaxation while listening to specially created music and sounds designed to promote healing and renewal. If you are curious about a particular technique, just ask and we will be happy to discuss and incorporate it appropriately.

How often is your body in one place, but your mind is far off somewhere else? Your body may be laying in bed, or spending time with family or friends, at work, or trying to focus on a task. But your mind is replaying the argument you had with your partner, or remembering how you were mistreated at work, or worrying about something, getting you stressed out thinking of the future.
The practice of meditation allows you to connect your body to your mind, bringing your attention to your present moment, not the problems of the past, or the worries of the future. But rather, to this moment, to this time, for it is only in the present moment that you are able to take actions and make decisions.
As you develop your inherently ingrained ability to be Mindful, what you discover is that the life situations around you may not have changed, but you have. The way you respond and the way you are affected by situations have changed. What lays ahead is a strong self-recognition of the power you already have and an incredible opportunity for self growth.
Learn How To
● Improve your posture
● Focus your attention
● “Let Go”
● Meditate in different positions: floor, chair, standing, walking, laying, moving
Trauma Release
Did you know your body has its own method of healing emotional and mental trauma? One that does not involved having to “talk” about it?
When you experience trauma or tension, your body will actually hold onto and retain the trauma down to a cellular level. To release this trauma, your incredible body has its very own system of release:
Through movement
If you take the example of an impala being chased by a lion, and the impala gets away, if you were to continue watching that impala once arriving to a safe place, the impala will shake to release the tension it experienced during the high tension situation.
As human beings, our logical mind often blocks this biological response, causing us to hold onto trauma. The human body has a natural shaking mechanism which releases this stored trauma, that can be triggered by activating key muscle sets.
How It Works
-
Activate key muscle sets by completing a few simple and basic stretches.
-
Lay on your back, as your body will begin to shake, releasing the tension and trauma it has been holding onto.
Reiki
Reiki is a holistic healing method developed by Dr. Mikao Usui of Japan. His understanding of our bodies’ enormous ability to heal, led to using Reiki to work with the body's energetic system. Dr. Usui designed Reiki to increase relaxation and decrease stress by using “palm healing or hands-on healing.”
What a Reiki Treament Looks Like
While the client lays or sits comfortably, the counsellor will focus their palms above various areas of the client's body. The counsellor may hold their palms over certain spots if some focus is needed or there is an energetic blockage. At times the counsellor may place their palms gently on the client’s body if the energetic force draws it to a certain area.
Clients are encouraged to think of the treatment as a deep meditation as they lay back, relax and listen to the specially chosen Reiki music. Energy work portion of session last 15-20 mins.
Sound Healing
Have you ever heard a song you haven’t listened to in awhile, and suddenly it takes you right back to where you were when you used to listen to that song?
This ability can also be used to promote health and well-being.
Sounds and Therapy
Sounds have a powerful ability to impact both our memories and emotional well-being. Certain sounds can bring forth positive feelings, while other sounds bring up negative experiences.
Depending on the vibrational frequency of the music, different parts of the brain are activated, and depending on which brain waves the music elicits, you can experience various emotional and mental states.
The floating melodies played during sessions have been specially chosen to promote states of healing. The music and sounds have been created by a local artist who uses dozens of non-electrical instruments to create a symphony of healing music. The artist has created music focused on different emotional states; love and compassion, forgiveness and reconciliation, renewal and hope. Sounds and frequencies are recorded at 432hz to align the listener with the frequencies of nature, bringing the mind and body to a state of balance and relaxation.
Mindfulness With Tea
The art of making, pouring, and drinking tea is one of the oldest and simplest mindfulness experiences.
This ancient practice helps to bring your mind to the present moment, allowing you to leave your worries and anxieties behind.
During your session you will have the opportunity to make a delectable steeped tea or slow roast coffee to enjoy during your visit.
Practice mindfulness meditation as you make your tea or coffee:
Focusing on the tea as it brews, listen to the sounds as you slowly pour it into your cup, activate your senses and strengthen your mind-body connection as you drink the tea.
Making tea as a form of mindfulness is highly recommended as it quickly develops your Mindfulness skills and you can very easily do it yourself anywhere.
